Arçelik Group, a leading durable consumer goods company, which boasts Home and Electronics Leaders Beko and Grundig, Expands Alliance’s Reach Across Europe, Africa, and Southeast Asia

SAN FRANCISCO and BERLIN – September 7, 2015 – The AllSeen Alliance, a cross-industry collaboration to advance the Internet of Everything through an open source software project, today announced that Arçelik has joined as a premier member. Arçelik Group has 26,000 employees worldwide and 14 production facilities throughout the world located in Turkey, Romania, Russia, China and South Africa. The company has also recently broken ground on its Thailand Refrigerator plant. The Arçelik Group provides products and services in 130 countries with sales and marketing offices located in 27 countries and under 10 different brands. Two of the most well known consumer electronics and home appliance brands, Grundig and Beko, will be at the forefront of the work Arçelik does within the AllSeen Alliance.

Arçelik joins 12 premier members Canon, Electrolux, Haier, LG, Microsoft, Panasonic, Philips, Qeo (a Technicolor company), Qualcomm Connected Experiences, Inc., Sharp, Silicon Image (a Lattice Semiconductor company) and Sony and more than 170 community and sponsored members in the Alliance.

By joining the AllSeen Alliance, Arçelik will help advance the AllJoyn open source project as the common software framework used by devices, services and apps within the Internet of Everything ecosystem. Arçelik’s diversified group of portfolio brands will make it an ideal member within the AllSeen Alliance as company leaders work on the interoperability challenges that often impede movement in cross platform standards.
