Thirteen New Members From Across the Globe Advance AllJoyn and IoT Interoperability
SAN FRANCISCO – October 14, 2015 — The AllSeen Alliance, a cross-industry collaboration to advance the Internet of Everything through an open source software project, today announced 13 new members, many from the Asia-Pacific region, have joined the Alliance.
The AllSeen Alliance has experienced tremendous year-over-year growth, with memberships increasing 658 percent since it was founded in 2013. The AllSeen Alliance is prepared for this growth to continue as Gartner Inc., predicts the Internet of Things will add $1.9 trillion to the global economy by 2020, across various brands and sectors, such as the connected home, healthcare, education, automotive and enterprise.
“The AllSeen Alliance is in a great place, and I could not be more proud of our members. They have continued to work together and welcome new members this past year amidst hyper growth for our organization,” said Philip DesAutels, senior director, IoT, AllSeen Alliance. “Our newest members come to AllSeen from across the world, and through the open source AllJoyn software framework will continue to help create a global ecosystem of billions of interoperable products, working together regardless of manufacturer, industry or platform.”
Many new members including HydroXphere, whose Founder and CEO Charlie Houchin is a former Olympic gold medal swimmer, will be attending the annual AllSeen Alliance Summit next week Oct. 19-21 in Seattle. Houchin’s company developed a swim meet operating and timing system for volunteers, parents, and swimmers to use at youth swim meets based on AllJoyn. The keynotes and full program are available here. Register today to attend.
